Egypt is currently working to define its long-term development and growth strategy with Siemens Energy
Joe Kaeser, Chairman of the Supervisory Board of Siemens Energy, said, “To support Egypt’s economic change, we have successfully connected 14.4 gigawatts to the country’s national grid, increasing its power generation capacity by more than 40 percent.
This source could provide reliable electricity to more than 40 million Egyptians, as well as much-needed power to many industrial sectors.”
To tap into the country’s enormous potential, Siemens has established a development platform with Egypt and in collaboration with its local partners, El Sewedy Electric and Orascom Construction.
The country has been industrializing since the pharaohs ordered the construction of the huge pyramids.
Their advanced power generation technology for the megaproject consists of 12 wind farms with about 600 wind turbines and three 4.8 gigawatt turnkey combined cycle power plants.
