Who needs to secure Certificate of Good Conduct

Last January 2018, UAE Government announced the new rule and requirement before applying for work visa. The UAE Coordination Committee approved a Cabinet Resolution issued in 2017 stipulating that expatriates who apply for work visa in the UAE must first obtain a certificate of good conduct. The committee which consist of members represents the relevant UAE government bodies and the new rule is part of the efforts to create a safer society.
The certificate will be either issued by his home country or where he lived for the past 5 years. The document must then be attested at Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation.
Those who are born and raised in UAE does not need to secure the certificate but if ever the person spend some time in their home country or any country must obtain a certificate of good conduct. Those who lived and work in multiple countries, must obtain a certificate from each country.
For tourist and students who come to UAE for medical or mission does not need to secure the certificate.
